As sinful creatures, unfortunately we have a tendency sometimes to make bad choices in life. Through those choices we hurt, disrespect and make people move away from us; in other words, we make enemies. Another unfortunate aspect of all of this is that it is our instinct to seek some sort of revenge against those people we call “enemies.” That is a result of our sinful acts.
But, as Christians, God promises to deal with our enemies and bless us if we will wait on Him and not try to take matters into our own hands. A pillar of christian teaching is to forgive others, because we know that if we do not forgive others, God will not forgive us. Therefore, we must forgive our enemies, not make new enemies. We should bless those who differ from our thoughts. We should pray for them, and if we do, God will show His mercy upon us.
Therefore, we must follow Jesus’ command to “love your enemies and do good to them.” Do not bring yourself down to that level, and always deal with your “enemies” just as God would like you to do.
